The Air Mag, famously featured in the 1989 film Back to the Future Part II, became a reality for the public in September 2011. While it doesn’t include the self-lacing technology seen in the movie, the sneaker perfectly replicates its cinematic counterpart. It features an electroluminescent N1ke logo on the strap and glowing LED panels in the midsole and heel.
This highly exclusive release was limited to just 1,500 pairs, all sold through charity auctions on eBay. Proceeds from the sales were donated to the Michael J. Fox Foundation to support Parkinson’s disease research.
